The practice of Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a way to connect with our whole being via fluid and creative movement. Vinyasa literally means "to place in a special way", and it is the intention we bring to this practice that makes it so powerful.
Unlike many other styles of yoga, this practice encourages the practitioner to connect more deeply with their own creative expression and life force, rather than conform to a set order and way of doing poses.
This series will empower you in your physical body by teaching and reinforcing safe alignment principles in the yoga postures. You will learn meditation, breath and other techniques that will support not only your safety (in any class), but also your connection to each pose.
The philosophy of yoga via the Yoga Sutras, the chakra system, Samkhya Yoga and Kriya Yoga, along with Taoist and other perspectives, will also provide reference and inspiration for the flow. Understand the bigger picture! And, ultimately, bring that awareness into the rest of your life.
